DEAR SANGHA,
In celebration of our dear teacher Dr. Nida Chenagtsang’s upcoming birthday on October 19th, we are raising funds for a Medicine Buddha statue to be the centerpiece of the Tanaduk Garden at Dr. Nida’s new retreat land Yuthok Ling in Arce, Italy.
Dr. Nida Chenagtsang has been teaching and treating patients through Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Tibetan Medicine, internationally for over 25 years.
Rooted in the lineage of the Yuthok Nyingthig beginning with the great Tibetan medicine master Yuthok the Elder, an emanation of Medicine Buddha of the 8th century, Sowa Rigpa has remained an essential source of health and healing for many centuries going hand in hand with the Buddhadharma.
Dr. Nida founded Yuthok Ling in Arce, Italy in 2023, and began building a Sowa Rigpa retreat center for people to gather for personal and group retreats, receive Sowa Rigpa healing, and take much needed time to reconnect with nature and themselves. With Yuthok’s blessings and collective efforts of the sangha, the build-out of a yoga pavilion, retreat cabin, Tibetan yurt, kitchen, and garden cafe are in various states of progress and completion.
One of the main features of Yuthok Ling will be the Tanaduk — a representation of Medicine Buddha’s Pure Land as a botanical garden and mandala.
This Tanaduk mandala is an essential motif of Sowa Rigpa as it encapsulates the Medicine Buddha’s vast teachings and symbolizes the five elements.
Over 100 fruit trees were planted last spring and some of them are already starting to bear fruit
As a precious gift, Donla Tsering is fundraising for the purchase of a Medicine Buddha statue to be the centerpiece for the Tanaduk garden. Made by a Nepali artist, the statue stands 6 feet (nearly 2 meters) tall.
We are raising $25,000*. Your contribution is immensely appreciated and will go towards the sharing of Sowa Rigpa knowledge to benefit many beings.
